Tandem is a small business of architects, designers and furniture makers based in Plymouth, Devon, South-West England. We offer a unique combination of services and undertake projects that range from architectural and interior commissions through to the design and manufacture of contemporary eco furniture and fittings.Whether on a bigger scale involving building works and new layouts, or on smaller projects where practical and clever use of spaces is required, we are committed to simplicity, quality, timeless design and long term durability.
As a small dedicated team we provide a professional and personal service for our clients. Working at a range of scales from furniture through to architectural projects our attention to detail remains consistently high. Our personalised service is ideally suited to projects that have tight constraints but where clients still demand high quality and beautifully designed solutions.

All our work is informed by our concern of creating furniture and interiors that are durable, healthy and have a low environmental impact as we consider the wider ecology most important for the future. We aim to create furniture, interiors and buildings that are in harmony with both people and nature.Our designs reflect the inherent nature of materials and are free of any applied styling or ornaments and are therefore durable and of a timeless quality.
For architectural and interior projects we seek to specify natural and low impact materials and fittings, and we design aiming at energy efficiency standards that go beyond the current legislation. In our furniture workshop we set ourselves rules for materials and finishes we are using and how we aim to keep the environmental impact of our work and products as low as possible - please follow this link to find out more.
