Tandem was commissioned for the fit out of an architect's office in Herefordshire. The company is a leading practice in the field of sustainable architecture, the freestanding and fitted furniture for their new office had to fulfil requirements of high quality design and manufacture as well as economical use of sustainable and durable materials.
Tandem manufactured and fitted over 25m of cantilevered worktop, central storage units that also act as space dividers, wall shelves and kitchen units. Three large meeting tables based on the edge ply table design were supplied, fitted with a linoleum surface. To complement the tables, the practice acquired sprung ply chairs and stools from the Tandem product range for their formal and informal meeting spaces.
Birch plywood, a strong board material efficiently produced from thin layers of rotary cut veneers, was chosen for the fit out, table and desk surfaces were enhanced with desktop linoleum.
