This project consisted of a complete remodeling of a one bedroom flat within a converted Georgian terrace house into a contemporary flat for open plan living. Through the challenge of creating a well functioning and high quality environment on a limited floor area, the design developed based on a concept of maintaining a sense of the original Georgian rooms. Utilising raised floor areas and lowered ceilings to define the different characters of spaces, a complex though subtle spatial design was achieved, whilst creating generous storage space. The fitted joinery and much of the furniture and lighting was designed and installed by Tandem for the commission.
