Ford Park Trust, which has been managing Ford Park Cemetery since 2000, is looking to convert the existing facilities to a Heritage Centre, involving the restoration of the Victorian Chapel and the refurbishment of the 1960’s building currently used. The project will be phased, aiming for the conversion of the current accommodation into administration facilities and entrance area by autumn ’07, followed by the renovation of the hall and mezzanine to provide a multi functional space for exhibitions, receptions and educational purpose for 2009, subject to funding.
The new administration facilities and entrance hall provide office space including a meeting room, a reception area with client seating and a kitchen to serve both main hall and office. Working within the confines of the existing floor area and space, creative use has been made of the volume with a range of storage walls utilising fitted furniture elements to define the different spaces.
